Chainbreaker.
God has given you the power
to change and the courage to dare to walk
into the unknown.

No one will truly know
your journey or your strength,
but God does.

Don’t give one second of energy
to what others think. They weren’t there alone
crying out to their only friend in the sky,
begging Him to break them and their life
to save their children
from your destructive inheritance.
They didn’t have to put up walls of safety
to protect their children’s innocence
from those who said they loved them.
They see you as a fool,
but it’s because they’ve never had to gather
the resilience it takes to walk away loving
someone’s soul more than their gain.

Chainbreaker.
You have chosen to be last,
so your children can be the victors.
You have become their hope-song through the night
and the bridge they walk across in the trenches.

No one will see the brokenness
you carried through the dark
as you pined after every sliver of light,
but God does.

He has counted every tear and bead of sweat
on your brow. When you reach the end
you’ll look back over the vast valleys
you crawled through and the cliffs you climbed
and you won’t see any of them.

All you’ll see are your children
delivered from the snare of the fowler,
dancing in the golden plains of truth
with the joy of heaven sparkling in their eyes
and at every memory of you
they will remember the miracles of their God

and all of their hands will reach like stars
toward the sky and every wind will give rise
to the unlinked children of the land,
the voices of saints singing reborn praises
to echo the resounding sound of freedom.
