We live in a fallen world. The enemy of God is busy weaving webs and plotting deceptive schemes to tempt humanity, but this nation was not destroyed by satanism and rebellion. It was destroyed by an apathetic church and lukewarm Christianity.
The woes of cultural chaos are outpourings of an idle spiritual battle where God’s people threw white flags of surrender to compromise with the devil’s temptations of the flesh that led down the path to evil and perversion.
Those who really love God will not stay where His name is misrepresented and His bride is hindered and destroyed. They will walk away from lukewarm and idolatrous churches. People may call those who stand for truth cowardly or rebellious, but walking away from unrepentant leadership is a step of faith. If more Christians did this, it would provoke much needed change and refining of the church system.
We need to have leaders anointed and equipped by God, not counterfeit wolves appointed by a worldly system. We’re at a point where many leaders are not humbly shepherding, but are acting like entitled VIPs who are selling books, abandoning their flocks to travel around for spotlight conference appearances, and teaming up against the vulnerable in need of God’s love to defend and protect themselves and their position. Way too many leaders are getting away with not doing what they’re supposed to do because God’s sheep won’t hold them accountable.
On the outside, there seems to be a revival of attendance, but the revival goes beyond pulpits and buildings. Many of God’s sheep are getting fed up with the surface-level teachings and false sense of security the church system has to offer. Discouraged and grieved sheep are scattering away from the system that claims to be of God, but has wasted generations feeding itself while watching their flocks and the nation fall apart.
Christianity is a narrow path in pursuit of God’s heart. It is a journey of seeking holiness, wisdom, and the spiritual fruits that lead to the fullness of God. God’s sheep will not find solace under shepherds who are more interested in compromising than feeding the flock and protecting them from wolves.
Judgment begins at the household of God, but God loves His bride eternally. The Holy Spirit of Christ does not need a building to be free; Christ always seeks and nourishes His own. His freedom holds no bounds.
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. – Galatians 5:1
My son, fear the Lord and the king, and do not join with those who do otherwise, for disaster will arise suddenly from them, and who knows the ruin that will come from them both? – Proverbs 24:21-22
What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, ‘I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me,’ says the Lord Almighty. – 2 Corinthians 6:16-18
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. – Ephesians 5:11-12
The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the injured you have not bound up, the strayed you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them. So they were scattered, because there was no shepherd, and they became food for all the wild beasts. My sheep were scattered;…My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, with none to search or seek for them. Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord, As I live, declares the Lord God, surely because my sheep have become a prey, and my sheep have become food for all the wild beasts, since there was no shepherd, and because my shepherds have not searched for my sheep, but the shepherds have fed themselves, and have not fed my sheep, therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: Thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require my sheep at their hand and put a stop to their feeding the sheep. No longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. I will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them. For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out…I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice. – Ezekiel 34:4-11, 15-16
