A Grieved Bride’s Passion

When a groom stumbles into sabotage, true love doesn’t look the other way. In the same way, Christ’s bride won’t be complacent with the state of the church. The Holy Spirit will be grieved into action.

A Godly bride is not complacent when her relationship claiming to be founded on the cross represents the devil and not her Savior.

A transformed mind will seek renewal, not reconstruct eternity into a transient image to turn freedom into captivity. A soul that knows salvation will seek after the gold, not settle for the glamorized blemish. A heart after God will seek and guard truth, not harden and defend lies.

It’s easy to call out sin in the world, but it’s hard to seek out conviction in our own hearts and lies in the church that actually led to it. Exposing sin of the world while neglecting to expose sin within ourselves and the church is a distraction and avoidance of a believer’s responsibility. Doing so is like entering the battlefield with armor and no sword.

Christ’s army is called to expose the unfruitful works of darkness, but it is a foundation of repentance within His bride that holds the power to influence and combat the evil in the world.

This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. – Ephesians 5:32

For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called. – Isaiah 54:5

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. – Ephesians 5:25-27

Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. – 1 Corinthians 2:12-14

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. – Romans 12:2
