The Exposure: Crimes against Humanity

Exposure often comes in the form of a volcano bursting with obvious atrocities, but the kindling usually begins way before the explosion. It builds little by little over time until humanity can no longer contain the intensity of boiling problems. Exposure is what happened during WWII when the cruelty inflicted by the Nazi regime’s intent to rule the world outweighed the amount of sacrifice it would take to end it. Leaders counted the cost. Militaries drafted their men. Lives would be lost valiantly in the fight against eugenics.

At the time, many didn’t deem it a worthwhile fight. War never sat easy on the hearts of humanity, but once the battle was over and sins exposed, consensus quickly became a reality. The foul stench of inhumane torture and murder swept through the world’s media. Over time, the full truth poured out. The world united on one conclusion: the Holocaust was pure evil.

When recalling atrocities of WWII, maybe Auschwitz comes to mind, or maybe the death march, but this behavior didn’t begin in the concentration death camps. It began decades prior right in the middle of society with everyone watching. Many pieces of kindling laid the foundation for Jewish slaughter over generations of time. The persecution began with small seeds of mind conditioning that later sprouted into action when Jews were ultimately treated like wild predators to be hunted and killed for the common good.

It began with a movement evoking positive emotions among the culture. The swastika, a symbol of German nationalistic pride, became a symbol of the movement that Hitler borrowed from eastern religions. At the time, it held optimistic and encouraging connotations. The name for the icon, derived from the Sanskrit svastika, can mean good fortune, prosperity, or conducive to well-being. Once the culture began cultivating crowds for motivated speeches depicting a better future for Germans, the real agenda started to take hold, like seeds planted deep inside the darkness of cultured soil. On the surface, not many could see the roots sprouting. It wouldn’t come to light for some until the plant casted its shadows onto future generations of darkened hearts.

For years, school curriculum included superior and inferior family trees. Teachers measured school children’s bodies to categorize and identify them into superior or inferior human fitness categories. Schools taught that Jews had tainted the human race, and this intentional subhuman breeding was not to be tolerated. For years, people educated children to isolate, embarrass, and dehumanize Jews. As the generations grew up, culture transitioned into the lies implanted into their minds and hearts. The swastika movement transitioned into one perpetuating fear. The existence of Jews alone sparked trepidation among the people because now they had become the stumbling block to what the movement wanted to achieve.

For years, Jews were called dogs, rats, and other subhuman animals. For years, propaganda published articles, posters, and commercials depicting Jews as dirty and disgusting vermin. For years, people avoided associations with Jews. For years, people rejected Jews from buying and selling in their establishments. For years, people helped the Nazis locate Jews. For years, people branded swastikas on Jewish businesses and homes. For years, people allowed mandates to force Jews to wear yellow stars. For years, people spit on and shouted profanities at Jews walking by on the street. For years, people watched Nazis take Jewish businesses, homes, and necessities. For years, people watched Nazis command trained dogs to openly maim Jews. For years, people watched Nazis senselessly beat Jews on the street into bloody pulps and leave them for dead.

Then, people watched Nazis stuff Jews into cattle cars like luggage and haul them into slavery.

And all of this was legal the entire time.

Those who tried to intervene for any reason were punished. Some were beaten or imprisoned. Most were shot dead on the spot. The people knew that standing up for Jews meant certain death.

The question is: if being apathetic was the only route to staying alive, were the townspeople responsible for the persecution and murder that took place on their watch?

Most of the Jews likely knew the place their cattle car would end up was not good, but not too many likely predicted the horrors that awaited them. By that time, however, there was no going back. Labor was intense. Treatment was traumatizing. Sleep was unheard of. Food and water were scarce. Many Jews were forced to endure wicked science experiments. Many Jews, who lined up for showers, were ushered into gas chambers instead. But the Nazis knew. They knew they were not turning on water, but turning on the fumes of death.

The question is: if they knew they had to do it or risk being killed, were the Nazis responsible for the murders that took place on their watch?

Decades after the Holocaust, we listened to many stories from Jews who survived the death camps. These stories made our blood boil. How could the Nazis do these horrific things and not incur punishment? Over time, some Nazis were charged with crimes and sent to prison or death row. Finally, society could exhale the breaths of justice.

We learned to study it. We learned to remember it. We promised to not repeat it.

While Nazis sat on trial for murder, mind conditioning schemes already brewed in the heart of another eugenicist, Margaret Sanger. Culture taught her superior family tree branched far above the inferior black counterparts. Her kindling began with positive messages about birth control and family choices. Planned Parenthoods opened exclusively in poor minority neighborhoods. She hired minorities to propagate the carefully crafted marketing messages. The movement slogan came in the form of reproductive rights and supportive healthcare for women. Young women became educated on birth control at younger ages while single mothers and poor children began to be shamed as inferior. The seeds of sin began to sprout. Women fighting for other rights latched onto the positive and encouraging messages. Motivation stirred through generations. The children grew up to perpetuate the idolization of self and the fear of having children. Over time, motivating certain types of women to seek an escape became the agenda. When the volcano overflowed, it burned through generations into a sea of senseless murder.

There is dehumanizing propaganda still going on today. There is misinformation in the education system going on today. There is a media-driven agenda going on today. There is open isolation and condemnation going on today. There is a slaughter going on today, but the difference is, it’s hidden from our eyes and there will never be a testimony of survivorship. We’ll never hear from the innocent victims. Unlike millions of Jews who were killed, the victims of today will forever remain unnamed and unidentified. There will be no survivors who remember the trauma of their attempted bloodshed.

The question is: are the townspeople who are aware of what’s going on responsible for the murders taking place on their watch? If victims survived to tell their traumatic and heart-wrenching stories, would we weep? Would our blood boil for these crimes against humanity?

Since Roe v. Wade in 1973, ten times the number of babies have been slaughtered in the United States alone than Jews in the entirety of the Holocaust. Over 800,000 babies are murdered every year. Over 2,600 are brutally killed every single day. They have been called clumps of cells and parasites. They have been injected with the same chemical used on death row inmates. They have been beaten, maimed, and tortured inside the one place they should find the comfort of safety and security, their own mother’s womb.  In an effort to better humanity, their mother heads to the clinic in a haste, convinced of the culture’s propagated conditioning that she’s not good enough or valuable enough or in a good enough situation to raise a child. That it’s somehow empowering for her to become a murderer.

As the babies calmly lay in wait for their next meal, they find silver gripping instruments instead brutally ripping their limbs off one by one. The hired assassin spills the brains and blood out onto the table, all that’s left of this unique creation. The carcass pieces are counted. Some are sold to satanic groups for rituals or scientists for wicked experiments. Others are forcefully stuffed into garbage disposals or biohazard bags to be sent out into the sewers or the trash. The babies don’t know they’re walking into a death camp, but the mothers do. The fathers do. The lawmakers do. The townspeople do. Maybe someday intervening will become a death sentence, but not today. Today, the deplorable injustice is accepted. It’s allowed. It’s justified. It’s tolerated. It’s ignored.

This is the current day death camp. This is the Holocaust of our generation.

The question is: on Judgment Day, will you be accountable?

Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

(Psalm 82:4)

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?

(Proverbs 24:10-12)

Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.

(Proverbs 31:8-10)

Cursed be anyone who perverts the justice due to the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow.

(Deuteronomy 27:19)
