The Pro-Life movement has been active since the nation turned toward legal abortion. For the first 40 years, the movement exposed the truth about abortion and made regulations to both hinder the abortion industry and make abortion safer for women. However, in 2016, the tide shifted in a season of spiritual reckoning. Since then, exposure has grown exponentially and over 100 abortion clinics have shut down.
We are now in another time of reckoning. Ending legal abortion is on the horizon, but instead of taking the step to implement penalties, the Pro-Life movement continues to fight legal battles and push for regulations that keep abortion going. The movement that demands for babies to be called human beings instead of clumps of cells also demands that people who kill them are victims of the abortion industry.
This is partially true. The abortion industry has weaved massive webs of deception through generations, but the truth has since been exposed through the air waves of media and education systems.
Even with this progress, the Pro-Life movement continues to build a legacy raising donations, backing political candidates, fighting legal battles, and making regulations. On the surface, this may seem productive, but what they have also been doing behind the scenes is battling against ending abortion. They’re at a standstill because bills of abolition that would fulfill their mission of making abortion inaccessible would also eliminate their final plea that parents be victims of the abortion industry.
For 40 years, it seemed that the Pro-Life movement was making headway, but the changes since 2016 were not due to Pro-Life or abolitionist movements. It was the power of repentance on display through Holy Spirit disciples entering the battlefield to pray, wield the sword, and proclaim the gospel.
The opportunity to end abortion is upon us. The real battle is not pro-choice versus pro-life. It’s good versus evil. It’s truth versus deception. It’s justice versus injustice. It’s the gospel versus the world.
The Pro-Life movement is not part of the solution. It’s part of the exposure. Refusing to legally treat abortion like what it is and add consequences to the crime may sound loving, but it’s the devil’s counterfeit that misrepresents God’s character and hinders the path to the soul-saving gospel.
Utimately, God’s going to do what He’s going to do. He will abolish abortion in this nation and it will become known as a crime against humanity. He’s all-powerful. He doesn’t need any of us, but we have one life and He’s given us the opportunity to not only be on the right side of history, but also on the right side of eternity.
He’s not going to do it through half-truths, marketing, and worldliness. He will be glorified through His powerful testimony – through His resurrected saints fasting, praying, and proclaiming the gospel.
That is what rescues souls stumbling to the slaughter. That is what crumbles abortion clinics and sends evil into shambles. The Holy Spirit fire is what saves a nation and makes the demons flee.
Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil. – Ecclesiastes 8:11
