The Lying Reflection

Some women look at the sky and think ‘the heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork,’ but then look in the mirror and drown in self-deprecation as if He didn’t make them both.

On the outside, they’re worshipping the Creator, but internally, they’re apologizing for existing.

So many women believe that children are a gift from the Lord, but don’t see themselves the same. If you are doing this, you are living in hypocrisy and insulting the Creator.

You were created in His image fearfully and wonderfully. You were knit together in your mother’s womb and are a valuable and precious gift from Himself to this world.

Psalm 139 says, “my soul knows it very well.” Does your soul know this very well or are you doubting your Creator every time you see or think about yourself?

You can’t love and honor God while devaluing and hating His precious heritage. His creation is evidence of His eternal power and divine nature. Romans 1 is often used to convict the world, but how often do we apply it to our own lives?

What you see in the mirror is not just a human being, but evidence of God’s wonderful works and miraculous love.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. – Romans 1:18-20

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. – 1 Peter 2:1-5

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. – Psalm 139:13-14

But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. – Matthew 10:30-31
