The Reparation Recourse

“More people should get married young and have more kids than they can afford.”

I’ve seen so many influential voices parroting this lately. It’s amazing how quickly people toss truth to the wind when their favorite person says something, but God tells us to use wisdom. We are all fallible. That’s why we’re supposed to live for the approval of God and follow God, not people.

I understand the fight for the created design, but we can’t solve problems by recreating them. This is not a bold solution; it’s propaganda just like how the other side sells abortion. It’s a way to avoid looking at the actual problems in need of solving, capitalize on a target audience, and run an agenda. Being in the world and not of it doesn’t mean to stay in a bubble and remain ignorant of what is actually happening. Doing so is exactly how abortion started.

The abortion industry preyed on the traumatized and neglected children from underprivileged families whose parents listened to advice like this from their local church, (a church that then refused to help them when the apathetic and hasty plan all went sour). Then, they complained about the increase in divorce, drug use, fornication, and abortion in the next generation – all aftershocks of a traumatic childhood.

Many who are spreading this seem to have support structures, but it’s important to consider what living in the direct impact of it would be like for those not so fortunate. Half-truths are not just inconvenient; they are dangerous.

The false teaching that God’s Word equates this to Christianity puts immense pressure onto believers to pursue it and increases oppression and condemnation on those who don’t. It leads to a defensive atmosphere. In these environments, those who speak up to the contrary tend to get quickly ganged up on and dismissed without consideration or discussion, the very thing many of those supporting the idea claim to stand so vehemently against.

I do agree with the uncompromising battle for righteousness and people pursuing the calling God has for them, but with intentions aside, I believe this widespread approach cast out onto society to be hasty and willfully ignorant of real and raw issues young people face, especially women seeking abortion.

This approach may satisfy the desire to see an image of the American dream playing out temporarily, but it is leaving out the depth of wisdom that satiates the soul of a nation and its struggling people. It focuses on multiplying the flesh without the spiritual fruit. Underneath the surface, it’s not leading people to long-term freedom. It’s leading people to destruction.

If we know the eternal Creator of the universe, we need to do better than settling for the road of temptation toward propaganda and quick-fixes that the devil has to offer.
