When the enemy goes to the extremes of evil, it makes sense to expose it and combat it with good. The father of lies is not always void of truth, but also a manipulator of half-truths. Darkness can control a narrative by suppressing the light, so telling the other side of the story is necessary in order to unravel the dark scheme.
The abortion industry suppressed the high call of motherhood into an inconvenience and the blessing of children into a burden. Pro-life advocates have counteracted these claims with ads and narratives suggesting motherhood is always a joy, women can do it all, and children don’t hinder women from achievements, all while suppressing those enduring the harsh reality of difficult circumstances and hardship.
It’s the devil who wraps truth in lies to sell an agenda, and both pro-abortion and pro-life advocates are doing it. Selling a lie that glamorizes having children only makes women lose trust in you when you try to tell them the truth. Glamorizing having children only further validates those who are not in that situation. It gives them more reason to feel outcasted and pressured to get out of a situation that doesn’t conform to the norm they are being sold. That’s why doing this does a disservice to motherhood and devalues human life.
Pro-life is not supposed to be a marketing scheme to fulfill an agenda; it’s supposed to be exposing realities of personhood, motherhood, and a striving for truth.
Many women who choose abortion are facing poverty, abusive relationships, family abandonment, and poverty. They’re in over their heads, but fulfilling some image shouldn’t even be one of the pressures they face from those claiming to be servants of God.
The reason to choose life has nothing to do with fulfilling an image, achieving worldly dreams, or with feelings, circumstance, fears, or hardships we are walking into. It has to do with what’s right.
The Creator says that children are a precious and valuable gift made in His image. A child doesn’t have to feel like a miracle to be one. Motherhood doesn’t have to feel like a blessing to be one. God’s miracles and blessings often don’t feel that way because He gives us what we need, not what we want.
These truths don’t require any manipulation or deception to penetrate hearts, change minds, and save souls. Wisdom from the Creator goes way further than any manmade agenda ever could.
The pro-life community can’t fight for truth by marketing an agenda full of half-truths that lie to women. It’s not possible to strive for truth while utilizing the tactics of the father of lies. It’s not possible to value all life and side with the enemy who dehumanizes souls.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. – Romans 1:18
And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. – 2 Corinthians 11:14-15
If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. – 1 John 1:6
