Well of Life: a Humble Proclamation

There’s a lot of people in eternal darkness who wish they would’ve ignored the religious elites and listened to the woman at the well.

Don’t let this be you, my friend. God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. He’ll often send wisdom through those who test our humility to receive it because God’s Kingdom is not built on image, status, or works.

It’s built on the least becoming the greatest and the meek inheriting the earth.

It’s built on the King of Kings taking the form of a servant and the Great Shepherd becoming a lamb led to the slaughter.

It’s built on the dead being resurrected to new life. It’s built on the unrighteous becoming righteous and the most despised and hated becoming the most honored,

so don’t be the one who rejects the message because society and religious elites reject the messenger. Don’t be the one who waits or turns the other way because of fear of vulnerability or exclusion.

Be the one who is willing to own your human depravity and stand apart. Be the one who opens a listening ear and leaves it all behind to seek after Him.

Be the one who bows down before the Maker of your soul and cries out for His mercy.

Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’ – John 4:13-14

So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” They went out of the town and were coming to him. – John 4:28-30
